Big Wash Barbed Wire Removal Project

  • 5 Nov 2022
  • 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Tangerine & Big Wash

Join the Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection and other conservation groups in removing fencing in Big Wash that endangers wildlife. Spots are limited, so sign up early if you are interested.

PLEASE BRING: Lunch (snacks will be provided), WATER (in a refillable bottle), personal necessities. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are required. Folks wearing shorts and/or open-toed shoes will not be able to participate due to the nature of the work and the landscape. We highly recommend comfortable, but sturdy boots, as well as older denim or similar pants and long-sleeve shirts that will provide protection from barbed wire spurs - there is a good chance these could get torn in the process. We also highly recommend a sunhat, sun/safety glasses, and sunscreen or other measures to avoid sunburn. If you have work gloves, bring them, but we will provide for those that do not.

WE WILL PROVIDE: Tools, snacks, water (for refilling your personal water bottle)

Register here or for more information: https://www.sonorandesert.org/learning-more/wildlife-linkages-2/desertfencebusters/

A confirmation email will be sent to you within 2 days of registering. And meeting details will be sent out to registered participants as the event approaches.
