Join SDMB and Pima County NRPR on National Public Lands Day for a volunteer work event on the Brown Mountain Trail in Tucson Mountain Park! We will mainly be performing tread and drainage work to repair sections of eroded trail on the upper/ridgeline section of the Brown Mountain Trail. Be prepared for warm/hot weather and at least a few miles of hiking to access work areas. Parking is limited at the Brown Mountain Trailhead, but overflow parking will be available across the road at the entrance to Gilbert Ray Campground. We will meet at the Brown Mountain Trailhead at 7 AM and will plan to be back to the trailhead by 11 AM.

Please come prepared with:

• Plenty of water (minimum 2-3 liters) and snacks
• A backpack or bag to carry all your personal items. We will be away from the vehicles until the end of the work event.
• Sun protection: hat, sunscreen, sunglasses (long sleeves / long pants recommended).
• Sturdy closed toed shoes (boots recommended)
• Weather appropriate clothing
• Work gloves (extra work gloves will be available if needed)

All tools will be provided. No previous trail work experience necessary.
