Calling all mountain bike advocates! SDMB is looking to grow its Advocacy Committee with new members! Are you equally passionate about mountain biking as you are about topics such as maintaining continued mountain bike access to existing trails, environmental sustainability / ecosystem restoration, proper mountain bike user trail etiquette, and / or increasing rider economic and social diversity? As SDMB’s mission and scope has grown so has the scope of the Advocacy Committee’s responsibilities. Advocacy Committee members produce outreach content (see SDMB’s In the Know blog series) and provide recommendations on many topics to the SDMB Board at large (via the Committee Chair).

We’re primarily looking for individuals that can bring diverse prospectives to the table and that have experience and a desire to contribute to maintaining and increasing mountain biking access and sustainability throughout the greater Tucson region. The Advocacy Committee meets approximately quarterly to discuss ongoing issues. Note, that there are ample opportunities to directly contribute to advocacy efforts through the likes of trailhead outreach, etc etc. If you have any questions about the Advocacy Committee or your potential role, please email advocacy@sdmb.org.
