Thanks for signing up for the MTB 101 Class at McKenzie Ranch!  McKenzie is Pima County's newest trail system, and the rolling, non-technical terrain is perfect for beginner riders.  

Class Overview: 

Learn techniques to ride the trails with more confidence, control, and efficiency. The class is taught by an experienced mountain bike instructor improving the skills of riders of all abilities. Recommended for beginners to intermediate, adults and youth 18 and under parent must sign waiver; 13 – 15 okay with a parent.

Riders need to bring mountain bike in good working condition. Riders need to be prepared to ride min. 5 miles and be outdoors for 3 hours – bring plenty of water (recommend 2 liters), snacks, sunscreen, and wear a helmet. Sunglasses, and gloves are highly recommended. Participants will receive a MTB 101 Manual you can keep!

Limited to 10 slots for the class.

Class will consist of bike set up, before you ride information, skills drills, then we’ll bring it all together with a ride on the McKenzie trails.  

Class is taught by Wendi Mabee.

Directions to McKenzie Ranch: From I-10 Exit 281 (SR 83 South): At the top of the exit ramp, turn left over I-10, turn right onto Marsh Station Road. Pass the Gabe Zimmerman Trailhead (3 miles) and proceed to Red Hill Ranch Road (another 4.7 miles). There is a red painted rock at the turn. Turn left and head North across the railroad tracks (CAUTION!), bear left to stay on Red Hill Ranch Rd. after the cattle guard. TH is 1000ft up on right. It is a total of 1.7 miles from Marsh Station Rd. to the trailhead.
